Open to string players (Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass, Classical Guitar, Harp)
Two Sections: Junior (age 12-14 as of Dec. 15) and Senior (15-18 as of Dec. 15)
3 cash prizes for each division: $1,500 for 1st prize in the Senior Division!
1) Jr. Division candidates can select any one work in its entirety that best represents their ability. 10 min. slot allotted for the preliminary round. Works will be performed in entirety during the final round, which can be longer than 10 mins.
2) Sr. Division must play 2 contrasting works. One must be a first or last mvt. from a standard classical or romantic concert. Sections from both works will be played during the preliminary round. The final round will consist of the concerto mvt. performed in its entirety.
